I sent it using United States Postal Service (usps). I did use full zip code (75185-2401). I also used usps return receipt, which means somebody from USCIS has to sign this form.
Return receipt is problem for PO Boxes. This is unattended. Not sure who signs it. Generally they put a paper in Mail Box., and based on that someone will be picking from Post Office.
This is the reason for it - so it will be delivered.
I just use delivery confirmation for P.O. Boxes.

It means you will be able to get your EAD in a few weeks, based on your ability to file for I-485. The real thing ... well it can take anywhere between 8-9 months to more than 3 years, depending on how quickly FBI completes your name check and how slow or fast the USCIS service center is.
Assuming I filed for I-485 before the retrogression mess.

38mm is still very much in the "normal" range for a 35mm format. The usual guidline has been that the focal length of the "normal" lens should be approx. the same as the film diagonal. If you were to crop your image to 8 x10 proportions from a 35mm image the diagonal would be 38.4mm.

I hear that new job description should exactly match with what is there in labor. I am frustrated with my current company & I need to make a shift.
Can anyone help me to understand the risk in joining my client as direct employee?. I am working for this client for last 10 years. My H1 extension was done using the letter from this customer & my resume also details the experience with this client. Am I safe to join client using my EAD?

Problems for EB based immigration is due to visa number shortages and relief can be achieved by an increase in the visa numbers. This will require legislation. Ombudsman has no role in this. Every one knows the current problems are due to shortage of visa numbers. Unfortunately, it is looking highly unlikely that congress will do anything until after the presidential elections. I don't know if you noticed it, as the democratic campaigns are going on, Hilary was being attacked for supporting no licenses for illegals in New York State. These people will avoid any immigration legislation. Whereas employment based immigration is non controversial, democrats know if they pass any such legislation, no republican will vote for the legalization. So the stalemate will continue until after next year's house and presidential election. Even republicans such as Cornyn are tiring out for legal immigration bills, where as the democrats are as enthusiastic as ever about solving illegal immigration problems only. Note the frequent atttempts at gettting the Dream act passed every few weeks.

i think everybody shall start telling their stories and give the ombudsman a bulleted list about what needs to happen to fix the broken system...just a thought...it may have a chance of better visibility.

Thats the same issue I have. My H1 is valid till 2010 and if I use AP now they will give it till Nov'2009. would I need to apply for H1 extension before my I-94(parolee) expires so that I can have an I-94 that is valid ?

"To complete the applications in time, the immigration agency put employees to work both days last weekend at service centers in Texas and Nebraska, immigration officials said. They said that 25,000 applications were processed in the final 48 hours before Monday�s deadline. In some cases, security clearances required by the F.B.I. were not entirely completed, immigration officials said. The agency approved some applications �when we were certain the process will be completed very shortly,� Mr. Aytes said."
* The report also indicates that the State Department and the USCIS tend to disagree with each other for the root of the problem for the current fiasco. Earlier there was a report in the Washington Post that the USCIS denied that the USCIS worked ceaselessly and frantically during the weekends (two days) before July 1, but it has been admitted since then the employees indeed worked hard during the two days. Along with more and more number of bills which are being introduced in the Congress, the constitutents of pro and con in the communities start mobilizing their muscles. Currently, the Senate debate schedule remains the last two weeks of May and these groups started acting up to pave a way for building a lofty wall against or smoothens the road for passage of this legislation. The Catholic community is very charged in support of the bill and actively lobbying both openly and behind the scenes to work with the legislators. People sometimes question why the Catholic community acts as one of the front lobbying forces for the CIR. You guessed it. Hispanics are Catholics and the CIR will tremendously expand the horizen of their constituents and its power base in the national political arena. Twelve or thirteen millions are not a small number. The same question is also raised relating to the AFL-CIO, labor unions. Again, you guessed it. The low-end industries and illegal aliens that will benefit from legalization are charaterized as workforces that belong to the organized unions. This is contrasted to the high-end industries and professional workers that are not by nature tightly organized into the unions. For the reasons, the unions tend to support the CIR, unlike the high-tech worker bills, to take advantage of expanding its membership and power base through the to-be-newly-recruited members of the unions. Aha...... Immigration proponents hope to see that legal immigration supporters and illegal immigration supporters quickly find a bed to share and become bed-partners such that the immigration reform legislation will move along more smoothly avoiding internal feuds and conflicts in the community.

Congressman John Shregg from Arizona introduced the SKIL Act of 2007 in the House on Wednesday, 04/18/2007. This is a bill which is identical to the Sen. Cornyn's bill in the Senate. These two legislators also introduced the identical bills in the House and the Senate last year. The full text has yet to be published, but the text is considered identical to the Cornyn bill. Rep. Shregg strongly opposes the comprehensive immigration reform legislation that includes legalization of illegal aliens.
The EIA, Electronics Industries Alliance, supports this bill, particularly H-1B reform, but asks that the SKIL and H-1B reform be enaced as part of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation.

How will this work for my wife (who is on H4 now)?
If I only travel back to US, can I file for my wife too. Or I file it for myself, and file for my wife after Aug17th when she is back.
Or MUST my wife also be present in US to file the I140/485?
Pls advice.

Both of you have to be in US to file 485. You may co-ordinate with your attorney while in India to prepare the paper work. Fly to be here atleast on 16th August, Sign the applications and ship it overnight to USCIS so that it reaches them on 17th August.

I recently returned from India, had a valid H1B visa, but the immigration officer insisted on using AP, my attorney suggests i need to change back on to H1B, any thoughts on this?

It was easy last year to not pass the bill. We had a Republican President & Congress and Democrats kept on blaming republicans for not doing anything. I think this time the ball will be in the Democrat's court to pass the CIR and send to the President for signature. They won't be able to blame it on republicans.
