I'm pretty sure it is just the one.
Its one disk that lets you install the OS on more that one computer (up to 5 I think) where as the normal one only lets you install once.

This may come as news to you, but a single person with a single experience is nothing but a single data point. In order to have confidence in a conclusion, we need lots of data points. Data points other than yourself tend to mention OSX crashing on occasion, and tend to mention at least some versions of Windows running reliably.
Speaking for myself, I've had a small number of OSX kernel panics in a little more than a year on my home machine, dozens of kernel panics on my work Mac (which I don't even use much), and very few problems or crashes with any of the dozens of Windows NT/2k machines at work. In my experience OSX is less stable than Win2k, however I am not foolish enough to claim that my observation makes this the truth for everyone.

I can see at least one good reason to have another model of some form:
As an excuse to do a model release halfway during the year.
Currently during the Jan-Jun period, iPhone buyers can only choose from a single model that's six to eleven months "old", with a fairly static price.
Compare that to say, Android buyers, who always seem to have a choice of getting the latest and greatest if they want, or even buy an older model with a possibly nice discount.
Last year, Android ate iPhone sales during the above period. No doubt it will happen again this Winter and Spring. That's a LONG time to be number two (or three) in sales each year. A second iPhone model could change that.
I'm not saying I think they will do this, but it makes sales sense.

This is appalling. I cannot believe this government intrusion is even legal.
So...where does parenting come into the picture here?! That is the problem with this and many, many other problems in society.
Edit: Posted my response without even reading other comments. Glad to see I'm not alone on this one.
Wait. You live in The People's Republic of Massachusetts and you are astounded by this level of government nanny-ism?

I doubt backlit keyboard will come back on MBA. Apple is trying to differentiate the MBP and MBA. Backlit keyboard is one of their lists.
^THIS
Why do people think its necessary or will eventually come back?
Also SB + BL Keyboard VS Nvidia GPU makes no sense.

They are both based on the Core architecture, that was my only point.
I thought you were saying that they were completely unrelated.
Of course they are branded differently, they have different uses.
Historically Xeon is for high-end workstations and servers, people know and expect this.
i definitely agree with you that they have very similar underlying technology, but i was just saying that Xeon and Core 2 Duo are two different brand names, Xeon is NOT part of Core 2 Duo
heck, macbook pro and macbook has very similar technology, but hopefully nobody will say macbook pro is part of macbook or visa versa

If the chip operates at a relatively high temperature a differential shouldn't be hard to reach. For example, with the cell operating at 600 degrees ... "600 degrees" ...degrees what?

Another event, yet another disappointment.
What are you talking about, it isn't even over yet. All that was truly expected was an Aperture update, which has been delivered.

My mom is buying a new iMac 17" soon, and I was wondering how I would get the files from her Windows 98 machine to the iMac via Ethernet, because she doesn't have a burner. Would it be the same as networking to Macs, or would it require special software?

Those bots are too dang quick!
I'm a bot with more bots at my beck and call the grey goo is only a matter of time, meh meh meh.
For fun, here (http://ttabvue.uspto.gov/ttabvue/v?qs=78459101) is a list of the parties who expect to file opposition to the Pod trademark application. They are Secure-It (http://www.secure-it.com/), Varsity Group (http://www.varsitygroup.com/), VNU Media Measurement (Nielsen/Soundscan (http://www.vnu.com/about/companyProfile/mediaMeasurement.html)), TastyBytes (http://www.tastybytessoftware.com), Podfitness (https://www.podfitness.com), and Line 6 (http://www.line6.com/).

In CT we are taxed I believe 50 cents on every gallon. The problem is that as gas prices rise people buy less of it and the taxes dry up.
It stands to reason that people would drive less. So the projected mileage tax revenue wouldn't be what they say and the already in-place gasoline tax would be less useful because people are driving less. Privacy issues aside, this is a dumb idea. Politically speaking you're not going to win many hearts and minds by taxing the lower and middle classes like this.

Well, for what it's worth, my white iPhone 4 fits the Mophie battery pack exactly the same as my black one does. Can't see any difference either. Well, except one is white.

I still think Option 1 is superior. If a "Hardware", "Software" split was done, pages like "iPhone" and "iPhone Applications" would be split up, which isn't necessary. "iPhone" needs its own category.
I agree, but I think sebastianlewis is right that we probably don't need to split Mac Laptop and Mac Desktop. The "mac hardware guides" category also isn't needed they can just be in the base Mac Hardware category.
